Applications for stage one of the Mentally Heathy Workplaces Grant Program closed on 12 May 2026.
The stage one assessment and decision-making process has now been completed. Applicants who were not successful for stage one funding are being contacted directly and advised of the outcome of their application.
Successful stage one grant recipients will be announced by the Minister for Industrial Relations in the coming weeks, with the announcement to be published on the WA Government media statements section on this website.
Stage two of the program is scheduled to open in 2027. If you would like to receive notifications specifically about stage two, please email WHSGrants@lgirs.wa.gov.au and ask to be added to the stage two notification list.

This program supports the Western Australian Government’s commitment to improving workplace mental health and reducing harm from psychosocial risks.
What the funding supports
Funding is available for initiatives that:
- improve understanding of psychosocial hazards;
- help workplaces identify and assess psychosocial risks;
- build capability to manage psychosocial hazards;
- provide practical tools, training or resources for workplace use; and
- support accessible and inclusive information for workers.
Examples include:
- practical guidance or toolkits;
- training or capability building programs;
- industry specific resources; and
- psychosocial risk assessment tools.
Funding available
- Up to $1 million grant funding is available each year to 2028-29.
- Individual grants of $200,000 a year are available.
- Projects may run for up to two years.
Program structure
The program is delivered in two stages:
Stage one
Focus on awareness and understanding of psychosocial hazards and duties.
Stage two
Focus on practical tools, strategies and evaluation. Details will be released at a later stage.
