On 15 November 2019, the State Government released the Native vegetation in Western Australia issues paper for public consultation. Consultation closed on 10 February 2020.
The issues paper invited feedback on four initiatives to improve the consistency and transparency in how native vegetation is considered across the range of government processes:
- A state native vegetation policy.
- Investing in better information, including mapping and montoring.
- Improving our regulatory processes.
- Exploring a bioregional approach to managing native vegetation.
