Last updated:

Whether you are a hospitality business or event, a community group with a clubhouse kitchen or fundraising stall or a local government running an event, there are new resources available to help you source ban-compliant alternatives and navigate reusable cups at your venue.

Understand the ban, find alternatives and view media resources

Find information (factsheets, guidance, promotional material, videos and case studies) on Bags, Straws and Utensils, Cups and cup lids and Foodware.

Visit the Plastic Ban Solution Finder with current disposable products on the market that meet WA’s regulations and advice on reusable foodware.

Things to note about these website tools:

  • The sites are created and owned by Boomerang Alliance with funding support from the WA Government, to provide and manage WA content for WA users.

  • Suppliers self-register their products via the website and Boomerang Alliance will verify that they are truly ban-compliant. If you are a supplier of ban-compliant hospitality products for the WA market, please submit your product(s) for assessment.

  • You might notice that some products are not listed on the database. They many not have been submitted or have been assessed and found not fully ban-compliant so are not approved for listing. Products operating under a temporary exemption or without datasheets to demonstrate their compliance will not be listed. This includes products under a class exemption or other temporary exemption or those seeking an exemption. As soon as a product achieves full ban-compliance, suppliers can resubmit details to Boomerang Alliance for assessment.
