Apply for a copy of your Police Abridged Crash Report

An Abridged Crash Report contains information collected by police when attending a traffic crash.
Last updated:

Information contained in the report may include the:

  • crash location, date and time
  • name and address of drivers involved and (if identified by police)
  • registration and description of involved vehicles (if identified by police)
  • result of investigation, including offender’s names and offences committed

Details of juvenile offenders and spent convictions cannot be released. The report will not explicitly state who was at fault for the crash. In most situations this is determined by intermediaries, such as insurance assessors or civil claims magistrates.

A printable version of the online form can be downloaded.

Applications will only be accepted from involved parties or their representatives. Applications from representatives must be supported by documentary proof of representation.

Payments made by cheque or money order must made be payable to the Commissioner of Police. Electronic money order vouchers cannot be accepted and will be returned.
