The State Records Commission has rescinded DA 2020-006 Ad Hoc Disposal Authority - COVID-19 - Contact Registers.

Requirements for the management of information in COVID-19 Contact Registers are now addressed by the Protection of Information (Entry Registration Information Relating to COVID-19 and Other Infectious Diseases) Act 2021.

It is recommended that government organisations refer to the State Records Office Guideline - Records Retention and Disposal Instructions when disposing of the contact registers.

If organisations wish to note the authority under which these records are destroyed they may quote the Protection of Information (Entry Registration Information Relating to COVID-19 and Other Infectious Diseases) Act 2021.
