Sixteen influential Western Australians have declared they’ll play their part for 16 Days in WA as the campaign officially gets underway for 2025.

The campaign runs from 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) through to 10 December (Human Rights Day).

Now in its ninth year, the theme for 2025 is ‘Stopping Family and Domestic Violence: Play your part’, encouraging Western Australians to take action to increase awareness and call out harmful behaviour to drive cultural change and stop violence before it starts.

For the first time, there is also a focus on men and boys championing respect for women and taking positive action to support the campaign across the State.

This year’s 16 Days in WA kicked off on the same day as more than 1,500 people participated in the Centre for Women’s Safety and Wellbeing’s 35th March Against Domestic and Family Violence in the Perth CBD.

The campaign’s start has also seen the unveiling of the 2025 16 Days in WA Agents of change.

A raft of influential leaders from a range of sectors have lent their voice to the campaign.

Among those are Fremantle Dockers Captain Alex Pearce, St John WA Group CEO Kevin Brown, Australian Medical Association WA President Dr Kyle Hoath, REIWA President Suzanne Brown, Anglicare CEO Mark Glasson, West Coast AFLW Captain Bella Lewis and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker.

With a total of 16 Agents, the impressive list also features Lisa Webb (Fremantle AFLW Coach), West Coast Fever Captain Jess Anstiss, Olympic pole vault gold medallist Nina Kennedy, Aaron Hardie and Amy Edgar (Perth Scorchers), Tom Cole (West Coast Eagles), Youth Advocate and Mentor Daniel Principe, Jarred Wall (Boox Kid), and comedy hypnotist Matt Hale.

More than 60 landmarks across the State will be lit up orange during the campaign, including Optus Stadium, RAC Arena, Broome Water Tower, Museum of Geraldton, and Port of Albany. Check out the landmarks that are being lit up near you via our interactive Google map.

There are also more than 70 registered events being held across WA throughout the campaign. Find out more on the 16 Days in WA events page.
