Energy Policy WA is reviewing the legislative and governance arrangements for the energy sector to create a regulatory environment that is agile and responsive to the challenges and opportunities of the energy transformation.

The centrepiece of the reforms is the development of a centralised regulatory framework, to be overseen by the Coordinator of Energy, that will provide end-to-end governance of electricity supply in the South West Interconnected System and support dynamic change management. The roles and responsibilities of various institutions within the energy sector will be streamlined and clarified.
