The Board is established under section 50 of the Energy Arbitration and Review Act 1998 as an appeals body formed on an ad hoc basis to review regulatory and administrative decisions for the Western Australian electricity and gas markets. It is required to undertake its functions with a high degree of professionalism, credibility and integrity.
