WA Health has issued advice for travellers who have recently returned from the Northern Territory.

People who were at Granites Gold Mine between 12pm, Friday 18 June and Friday, 25 June

  • Get tested for COVID-19 within 48 hours
  • Self-quarantine for 14 days from the date they left the mine site
  • Present for a day 11 COVID-19 test

People who returned to WA from the Northern Territory after Friday, 18 June

  • Get tested for COVID-19 if symptoms develop.

The advice follows reports from Northern Territory (NT) Health of a positive COVID-19 case at the Newmont-owned Granites gold mine in the Tanami Desert, around 540km north-west of Alice Springs.

A worker from Victoria is believed to have been infected with the Delta variant at the Airport Novotel Langley quarantine hotel in Brisbane and was potentially infectious from Friday 18 June to Thursday 24 June.

A list of testing clinics is available on the HealthyWA (external link) website.
