The Registry is reissuing birth, marriage and change-of-name certificates free of charge to people whose homes and belongings were destroyed in the devastating bushfire this month.
Applications are referred to the Registry by the Department of Communities’ Disaster and Emergency Support Services.
The Department of Communities verifies bushfire victims before referring them to relevant Government agencies for assistance.
Births, deaths and marriage registries across Australia participate in a national initiative to assist people in situations where a natural disaster has been declared.
The WA Registry liaises with State and Territory counterparts to obtain certificates of events registered interstate.
It previously provided this assistance to victims of the Yarloop and Roleystone bushfires, as well as people affected by the 2019 bushfires in NSW.
"We are pleased to be able to help those people who have lost everything in the fire," Registrar Alison Jackson said.
"Getting fresh copies in a timely manner gives recipients a head start in providing primary ID documents to obtain critical services," Ms Jackson said.
People seeking to apply for certificates should contact the Department of Communities on 0417 915 216, email emergencyservices@cpfs.wa.gov.au or visit the Disaster and Emergency Support Services page.
