COVID-19 coronavirus: WA free RAT program

Information about free Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) in Western Australia.

RATs (Rapid Antigen Tests) are a quick and convenient way to detect and limit the spread of COVID-19.

Free RATs for WA Households

WA households are eligible for another 20 free nasal RATs. Each household in WA can collect free Rapid Antigen Tests from:

  • metropolitan drive-through collection points and COVID-19 vaccination clinics
  • regional COVID-19 testing clinics.

Millions of free RATs have already been distributed by the WA Government, as part of the WA free RAT program. This latest distribution of RATs is another way the WA Government is providing the community with easy and convenient ways to test for COVID-19 while also easing cost of living pressures.

Where can I collect free RATs?

A list of locations of where you can get your free RATs is available below.

For people with disability and frontline disability support workers, visit the Department of Communities’ website for information about your free RATs.

Important Information: For close contacts collecting RATs

  • Close contacts with no symptoms can collect their free RATs (in addition to your household allocation) at a range of metropolitan vaccination clinics and testing clinics in the regions (subject to availability). See below for designated drive through, metro and regional locations.
  • You will need to wear a mask when collecting your free RATs (in line with close contact protocols) and take your daily RAT before coming in.
  • Please do not attend regional emergency departments for RAT collection.
  • You’ll be required to verbally confirm that you are a close contact and will be able to collect RATs for other close contacts within your household, to a maximum of 30 RATs.
