Carabooda District Structure Plan

The Carabooda District Structure Plan (DSP) provides a comprehensive framework to guide urban development while identifying significant areas for conservation.
Last updated:

This is the first DSP to be delivered under the new Metropolitan Region Scheme and a pilot project for early environmental advice from the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) through the district structure planning process. It provides greater certainty for future development and supports coordinated delivery of environmental protection, infrastructure, schools, community facilities and open space.

The DSP establishes the requirements that need to be addressed at each planning stage and provides the basis for region and local planning scheme amendments and the preparation of local structure plans.

Covering around 990 hectares, the DSP area will help deliver around 9,200 new dwellings, accommodating up to 23,000 people over the next 20 years.
