Since this web page was published, the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) Rules have been renamed the Electricity System and Market (ESM) Rules, and the Electricity Industry (Wholesale Electricity Market) Regulations 2004 (WEM Regulations) have been renamed the Electricity Industry (Electricity System and Market) Regulations 2004 (ESM Regulations). Changes have not been made to this web page to reflect this updated name.
Rationale: The Wholesale Electricity Market Rules and the Gas Services Information Rules must reflect any rule changes approved by the Rule Change Panel (and those previously made by the Independent Market Operator); and any changes made by the Minister via publication in the Government Gazettes. There have been instances where the Minister has made changes to both sets of rules that were not accurately reflected in the rules, and have now been corrected. Please see the Notice of Corrigenda (below) for further detail.
