Motor vehicle licensing - Change of authorised premises

Notify the Department that your licence's authorised premise has changed.

You need to notify us if you are a motor vehicle dealer, repairer or car market operator and you plan to:

  • add a new premises to your licence;
  • move your business to a new location; or
  • stop operating from a current premises.

An authorised premises is a location or vehicle that has been approved and issued with a Certificate of Authorised Premises (CAP).

Note: The Commissioner for Consumer Protection can approve your business to operate from a particular location, it is still your responsibility to check with your local council that the premises are correctly zoned for your business activities.
 
If you are only changing your postal address, you do not need to submit an application. Email the updated details to cplicensing@demirs.wa.gov.au.

To lodge an application

  • Complete all of the relevant sections of the application form.
  • Attach/pay the correct fee. This is payable at the time of lodging the application.
  • Sign the authorisation and declaration section of the form. This applies to all directors/partners or the sole trader.
