Completion of gap training course

Application for an electrician's licence on completion of electrical trades licensing (ETL) gap training course, Completion of Australian Minimum Context Training and Gap Training Program 'electrical fitting work' only.

Gap training courses must be completed by internationally trained electricians to bridge the gap between international training and Australian electrical standards, laws and work practices. Submitting a licence application

Select your relevant training below for details. 

Step 1: Make sure you’ve got all your documents ready to apply.

Step 2: Apply for your licence. For relevant payment fees visit licence fees.

Step 3: Application granted within 6-8 weeks.

Completion of electrical trades licensing gap training course

Before you apply

1. Complete requirements

  • A copy of your letter from the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) confirming the successful completion of the ETL Gap Training Course and confirming eligibility for a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.
  • Proof identification;
  • A police check (dated within the past 3 months, showing the same name as your identification);
  • Visa/Mastercard for fee payment.

2. Complete application form
