About us
We help manage, build and maintain important places that support and protect our communities across Western Australia including schools, hospitals, police stations and social housing.
We also provide social housing services to those most vulnerable in our community, assist with housing in remote Aboriginal communities and manage housing for government employees.
There are many different teams in the Department of Housing and Works. This traineeship is offered in our Housing Services division which manages social housing across the state.
Working here means you are part of a friendly and helpful team, and you receive training and support. Find out more about what we do.
Benefits of doing a traineeship with us
A traineeship with us is a great way to gain real world experience. You’ll develop valuable skills, build confidence and learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment that supports communities across WA.
As a trainee in our Housing Services division, you:
- work alongside an experienced team
- help with administrative duties like organising documents
- learn and use computer software and systems
- provide support to team members.
You’ll gain practical skills that you can use in many future careers while developing your personal leadership skills. Our values – Clarity, Accountability, Respect and Empathy – support you in your development.
We make sure you have a mentor to guide you throughout your traineeship and help you learn, grow and succeed in your role.
This opportunity is unique because you’ll contribute to meaningful works that help provide safe and secure housing for Western Australians. You’ll also gain insight into how government agencies operate and how they support essential services across the state.
