Biography
For Hon Amber-Jade Sanderson BA MLA
Amber-Jade Sanderson is the Western Australian Minister for Energy and Decarbonisation; Manufacturing; Skills and TAFE; Pilbara and Minister assisting the Minster for Defence Industries.
She is responsible for leading the Cook Labor Government’s ambitious renewable energy transition, while also ensuring Western Australia has a highly skilled future workforce.
Amber-Jade has held senior economic, social and environmental portfolios, including Health Minister during the covid pandemic. She has led complex reform through government and Parliament.
One of her proudest achievements is working with then Health Minister Roger Cook to deliver Western Australia’s landmark Voluntary Assisted Dying laws.
Prior to becoming a Minister, she served as Cabinet Secretary and Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier.
First elected to the Legislative Council in 2013, she successfully contested the Legislative Assembly seat of Morley in 2017.
She is a passionate advocate for her local community in Morley.
Amber-Jade lives with her long term partner Phil, her two children and their two dogs, Frida and Magda.
