The yearly State Wage Case sets the minimum pay and award wages. Pay increases usually apply from the beginning of the first pay period that starts on or after 1 July each year.

This award only applies to specific named businesses

This award only applies to specific named businesses (as listed on page 2 at Step 2 in the WA award summary) when the relevant employer is operating in the state system. Businesses covered include Subway, Red Rooster, KFC, Chicken Treat and others.

Fast food outlets in the state industrial relations system that are not trading as one of the named businesses are covered by the Restaurant, Café and Catering (WA) Award.
