Now in its 25th year, the Premier's Science Awards recognises and celebrates the outstanding scientific research and engagement taking place in Western Australia.

In 2026, the Premier's Science Awards has recognised 12 local scientists across ten categories and the People’s Choice Award:

  • Scientist of the Year
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scientist of the Year
  • Mid-Career Scientist of the Year
  • Early Career Scientist of the Year
  • Student Scientist of the Year
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander STEM Student of the Year
  • Government Science Project of the Year
  • STEM Educator of the Year (Schools)
  • STEM Educator of the Year (Tertiary)
  • Science Engagement Initiative of the Year
