Advice and support for Department of Communities job applicants with disability

Communities is committed to being an organisation that is confident and capable in employing, retaining and developing people with disability.
Last updated:

Communities attained Disability Confident Recruiter status through the Australian Network on Disability, a rigorous process which removed unintended barriers for people with disability when applying to work with us.

Our diversity, equity and inclusion plan is our commitment to having an inclusive workplace where people with disability have equal access to employment and development opportunities.

We strongly encourage people with disability to apply for roles in our agency at all levels and across all of our portfolios. Visit the Communities Jobs Board to find out what types of roles available in different office locations.

When you apply for a job with us, we want to make sure you have every opportunity to show us why you are right for the job. You can speak to the person listed in the advert to discuss adjustments you may require, so you are comfortable throughout the recruitment process.

possAbility Network

Our employee driven possAbility Network encourages the skills, knowledge and lived experience of employees with disability and their allies, to drive positive change within Communities.

The Network meets to explore ways to promote understanding and awareness of issues for people with disability and enhance a culture of inclusion.
