Consultation for all unpaid carers and community members in WA is now closed. Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate and share their experiences.
The State Government is developing a new Western Australia (WA) Carers Strategy (Strategy), which will be shaped by the insights you provided.
Unpaid carers make a positive and significant difference to the lives of families, friends and the people they care for. Your contributions will help ensure the Strategy reflects the real experiences, challenges, and priorities of carers across WA.
The feedback shared through the consultation process will support a clearer understanding of caring in WA, including who carers are, the types of care provided, and the impact of caring on individuals, families, and communities.
Carers come from various backgrounds and age groups and each caring role is unique. The Strategy will set out a long-term vision for recognising and supporting the needs of carers, including those in regional and remote areas, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander carers, and young carers.
Further consultation will occur in 2026 as part of the next phase of developing the Strategy ensuring carers and stakeholders continue to have a voice throughout the process.
All survey responses will remain anonymous, and all data will be de-identified before being used to inform the Strategy.
