Congratulations to all finalists for the WA Innovators of the Year 2026! Meet this year's outstanding finalists and discover how they're shaping the State’s thriving innovation ecosystem.

Western Australia’s (WA) Innovators of the Year awards program celebrates local businesses, government entities and young people that have developed an outstanding innovative product, technology or service.  

In 2026, the program will recognise WA innovators across eight award categories:

  • Growth Innovation Award
  • Advanced Manufacturing Award
  • Community Benefit and Wellbeing Award
  • Energy Innovation Award
  • Government Innovation Award
  • Great for the State Award
  • Young Innovators Award

Emerging Innovation Award

Recognising an outstanding innovative product, technology, process or service that that has not yet generated material commercial revenue at the time of application submission.

Growth Innovation Award

Recognising an outstanding innovative product, technology, process or service that has generated material commercial revenue from the innovation at the time of application submission.

Advanced Manufacturing Award

Recognising the use of advanced technology and knowledge inputs as an integral part of their manufacturing process to create efficient, higher value-add and more complex manufacturing goods across the manufacturing value chain.

Community Benefit and Wellbeing Award

Recognising an outstanding innovative product, technology, process or service that advances social and/or medical wellbeing in the community.

Energy Innovation Award

Recognising an outstanding innovative product, technology, process or service that inspires and informs the future direction of oil, gas, and new energy production in WA.

Government Innovation Award

Recognising an innovative WA public servant, or group of public servants, who have created an outstanding innovative novel product, service, or technology that helps improve government services and adds value to public service delivery.

Great for the State Award

Recognising bold innovation that showcases the State’s creativity and ingenuity, and offers clear benefits for WA’s economy, community and/or environment.

Young Innovators Award

Recognising a high school aged individual or team (1 to 5 people) who has developed an outstanding innovative product, technology, process or service that clearly demonstrates an economic, social or environmental benefit to WA.
