Advanced Contract Management

Workshop: This two-day workshop will provide WA Public Sector employees with an advanced understanding of contract management in the procurement of Goods and Services.

This workshop focuses on managing medium to high risk and/or high complexity goods and services contracts, including panel arrangements.

Who is this training suitable for?

Due to the specialist nature of this workshop, it is recommended you meet a minimum of three of the following criteria:

  • Currently manage medium to high risk and/or high complexity Goods and Services contracts, including panel arrangements
  • Contract management is the primary function of your role · Be deemed a specialist according to the Procurement Competency Matrix
  • A WA Public Sector employee Level 7 or above

Finance will request further information from officers interested in attending this course to confirm you meet course requirements. You may not be offered a place on the course if you don’t meet these requirements.

If you are new to contract management, manage low value/low risk contracts, or only carry out contract management as a small portion of your job role, we recommend the following training:

Please note that the cost to attend PCVP module 5 is $300. Additional costs apply if you wish to undertake the assessment.

You will learn

  • An advanced knowledge of contract management principles and practices in the context of the WA public sector
  • Skills and knowledge to enhance your current practices, particularly in relation to the strategic and stakeholder relationship
  • How to constructively invest time and energy to achieve results based on the type of contract
  • How to manage contracts dynamically during periods of change

Please note that this training is provided by the Department of Finance and funded for state public sector employees and Government Trading Enterprises. However, we encourage those in local government to submit an expression of interest. This will form a waitlist for sessions that have low enrolments, we will contact you when places become available.
