Corrective Services Custodial Staff Re-engagement

If you have been previously employed as a Custodial Officer with Department of Justice, Western Australia within the last two years and have completed your probation, complete the online form below.

The Recruitment Team will progress your application to re-engage to the Delegated Authority for consideration. You will be advised of the outcome and next steps in due course.

Note: When submitting your application, it's important to provide detailed information to avoid delays in the evaluation and assessment process.

Eligibility

All returning Department of Justice (DoJ) Officers must meet basic mandatory requirements to be considered for re-engagement.

Are you eligible? To be eligible for re-engagement, you must meet the following criteria:

  • you worked for DoJ as an Officer for more than 12 months
  • you passed your Officer probationary period
  • you are an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Australian Resident
  • you left the service less than 2 years ago.

Re-engagement process

For your re-engagement request to be considered, you will need to complete the online application form above.

The responses you provide will be collated and submitted to the appropriate Delegated Authority for consideration.

As part of the questionnaire, you will need to upload a current resume/CV and a formal letter requesting consideration of your re-engagement application. Your letter should include the circumstances that led to you leaving, and why you want to return.

If your re-engagement application is approved, you will need to successfully complete some pre-employment assessments before you are eligible to commence. These may include:

  • online psychometric testing
  • physical assessment (fitness)
  • medical assessment
  • psychological interview
  • criminal history and integrity screening (this is undertaken by the Department - applicants are not required to obtain a police clearance)

Training

If your re-engagement application is approved, the Corrective Services Training Academy will complete an assessment of your previous training and skills.

The Academy will advise of any additional or refresher training that you will be required to complete.
