About My Account
My Account is a single sign-on solution to improve user experience. It is used by both the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (LGIRS) and the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration (DMPE). This removes the need for users to have multiple sign in credentials across DMPE and LGIRS digital services. For more information, please visit the LGIRS terms and conditions of use.

How to disable, delete, or re-enable your account profile
Show moreTo stop using a service
If you no longer use a service linked to your account, you do not need to disable or delete your account.
We recommend you simply stop using that service.
If you receive subscription updates, you can unsubscribe or allow the subscription to expire.
Disabling your account profile
Disabling your account prevents it from being used to sign in to all connected online services.
Your digital identity remains on record and can be re-enabled if needed.
Important considerations to note before disabling your account:
- You will no longer be able to sign in using that account.
- Access to connected online services may be affected.
- A written request is required to re-enable the account.
Deleting your account profile
Deleting your account permanently removes your digital identity and account information, except where records must be retained by law.
Important considerations to note before deleting your account:
- You will permanently lose access to services linked to that account.
- Your account cannot be restored once deleted.
- Personal information associated with the account will be removed, subject to legal retention requirements.
If you are unsure, we recommend disabling your account instead. A disabled account can be re-enabled in the future.
Request to delete or re-enable your account profile
Please email myaccount.enquiries@lgirs.wa.gov.au from your registered email address and include:
- The action required: Delete or Re-enable your account
- Your full name
Important: Requests must be submitted from the email address registered to the account for identity verification purposes.
You will be notified by email once your request has been processed.
My Account frequently asked questions
Show moreWhat is My Account?
My Account is a secure single sign on solution used by the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (LGIRS) and the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration (DMPE).
My Account provides you with a digital identity that allows you to access connected online services using a single account profile.
This removes the need to manage multiple usernames and passwords across LGIRS and DMPE digital services.
You can create an account profile in My Account using an email address and password, or by signing in with a Digital ID, Facebook or Google account.
Why do I need to use My Account?
Many LGIRS and DMPE online services use My Account as their sign in solution.
My Account provides a consistent and secure sign in experience making it easier to access and manage your interactions with online services.
Using a single account profile also reduces the need to remember and manage multiple usernames and passwords.
What is a digital identity?
Your digital identity helps confirm who you are when accessing our online services.
Your My Account profile acts as your digital identity and allows connected online services to recognise you when you sign in.
Is My Account secure and private?
Yes. My Account includes security measures designed to protect your digital identity, personal information and privacy.
These measures help safeguard your account against unauthorised access, identity theft and fraud, while providing an accessible and secure sign in experience.
Can I create more than one account profile?
Yes. You may create separate My Account profiles for different purposes, such as personal and business activities.
Each My Account profile must be registered with a unique email address.
Can I use My Account to access multiple services?
Yes. Your My Account profile can be used to access a variety of connected online services.
Visit My Account Help to view the list of connected services.
Why am I being asked to create a profile in My Account?
You may be asked to create a profile in My Account when accessing an online service or online form that uses My Account as its sign in solution.
Once your account profile has been created, you can use it to access other connected online services that use My Account.
Can I share my account with someone else?
No. Your My Account is your personal digital identity and must not be shared with another person.
Each person who requires access to an online service must have their own My Account profile and sign in using their own credentials.
Can I use a shared or generic email address?
No. My Account is designed to provide an individual digital identity and each account profile should be associated with an individual user and a unique email address.
Shared or generic email addresses are not permitted under our terms and conditions of use.
Using an individual email address helps maintain account security, supports identity verification and enables security features such as two-step authentication.
Should I set up two-step authentication?
Two-step authentication is recommended and adds an extra layer of security to help protect your digital identity and personal information.
When enabled, you will use your password and a one-time passcode on your mobile phone to sign in.
This helps reduce the risk of unauthorised access to your account, even if your password is compromised.
