Western Australian Procurement Professionalisation Strategy 2026-2030

Vision: By 2030, procurement in the Western Australian Public Sector will be a recognised profession that drives public value through capability, consistency and credibility.
Last updated:

As the functional lead for procurement in the Western Australian public sector, the Department of Treasury and Finance has developed the Procurement Professionalisation Strategy 2026–2030, replacing the Procurement Capability Development Strategy 2022–2025. The Strategy builds on earlier capability uplift and sets the direction for a professionalised procurement workforce across the sector.

Overview

The Procurement Professionalisation Strategy 2026–2030 sets the whole-of-sector direction for strengthening procurement as both a profession and a function across the Western Australian public sector.

The Strategy builds on the foundations of earlier capability uplift and outlines a phased, long-term approach to developing a professional procurement workforce supported by consistent frameworks, leadership expectations and system enablers.
