The property owner is responsible for authorising their property’s switchover to a new energy source. If you are a private tenant renting a residential or business property, we’ll need to update our records with your landlord’s or property manager’s contact details so we can guide them through the transition process.
What private residential and business tenants need to do
Please ask your landlord or property manager to email us at albanygastransition@deed.wa.gov.au or call us on 08 9200 6888. It’s important that we update our records as soon as possible so that your landlord or property manager is aware of the actions they’ll need to take to ensure your property is transitioned in time.
If your landlord chooses to transition your property to LPG bottles, depending on the type of contract you hold with your landlord, you may need to organise payment for the ongoing supply of the LPG bottles. Please liaise with your landlord to find out when the conversion works are taking place at your property, so you can arrange for your first set of gas bottles to be delivered beforehand. Bottles need to be delivered and placed in a compliant and secure location. A list of gas bottle retailers is enclosed in your information pack.
- Once your gas piping has been disconnected, ATCO will attend your property at an agreed time to take a final reading of your gas meter before its removal. Following this, you will receive your final bill from Alinta Energy, which you’ll need to pay.
