Working at the Public Sector Commission

We’re a small agency making a big difference
Last updated: 24 March 2023

In many ways, the public sector is the backbone of the Western Australian community.

It supports and influences almost every aspect of the lives of people who live in this vast state and is vital to create inclusive, vibrant communities.

Here at the Public Sector Commission, we’re on a mission to create an innovative and future fit public sector for all Western Australians.

Our work supports and guides more than 160,000 public sector staff, helping them and their agencies to run efficiently and with integrity to deliver services to nearly 2.8 million people across our state.

We like to say our work is about shaping, building and regulating the sector – at times leading and at other times supporting and collaborating.

So working here means you are at the front of initiatives that can have a big impact across the sector. We want our people to make a difference, thinking and rethinking how things are done and can be improved.

And we act with professionalism, purpose and pride.

We’re driving big changes and improvements across our state’s biggest employer, the WA public sector. With a focus on critical thinking and continuous improvement, we are making real change across the sector.

So, although we are only a small agency, working here means you can make a big difference.
