Replace your learner’s permit

If your WA learner’s permit has been lost, stolen or damaged you can apply for a replacement.
Last updated: 23 September 2020

You can buy a replacement learner’s permit via a DoTDirect online account unless you have changed your address in the past seven days or ordered a replacement in the past 12 months.

If the card was stolen, you will need to get a police incident report number by calling 131 444.

Alternatively, you can fill out a form (PDF) and take it to a Driver and Vehicle Services Centre or regional agent with original or certified copies of your identification (PDF) and the application fee.

You can also send the form via post with certified copies of your identification and application fee to:

Department of Transport
Driver and Vehicle Services
GPO Box R1290
Perth WA 6844

Contact the department to check if it holds a valid photo of you before applying by post.

Learner’s permits cannot be renewed. If your permit expires you need to apply for a new one (PDF).

You can pay by cheque or money order when applying for a replacement by post or with Visa or Mastercard when going through DoTDirect.
