The National Office for Child Safety (National Office) within the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet is leading the development and implementation of Australia’s first National Strategy to Prevent and Respond to Child Sexual Abuse (National Strategy), in partnership with state and territory governments.

The National Strategy will be a 10-year (2021-2030), whole-of-nation framework to establish a coordinated and consistent approach to preventing and responding to child sexual abuse in all settings, including in institutions, in families and online.

Over the National Strategy’s lifetime, the National Office will be consulting with the Australian community on the development, implementation and evaluation of related initiatives. These consultations will include targeted engagement with key stakeholder groups impacted by the National Strategy, including victims and survivors of child sexual abuse.
