Taxi and ride share drivers with no symptoms of COVID-19 are now eligible for regular testing as part of Western Australia’s DETECT Borders program (external link).

The program aims to quickly detect any COVID-19 cases to limit further spread, and provides drivers and other workers in areas including health, hotels, airports, and ports the opportunity to be tested as often as weekly at any public COVID-19 testing clinic.

Asymptomatic drivers can continue with any usual activities and movements while waiting for their test results.

All Western Australians are encouraged to stay vigilant and get tested if they develop any COVID-19 symptoms, and use SafeWA and mandatory contact registers to check into businesses and venues.

More information about the changes to COVID-19 testing is available at HealthyWA.
