Volunteer Development Services will be available in the Pilbara and Wheatbelt for the first time with the expansion of the program announced today.

From June 2024,  the Volunteering Development Services (VDS) program will be expanded to the Pilbara and Wheatbelt, with the announcement of a new provider, Town Team Movement receiving a share of a $2.1 million boost to the VDS Program through Royalties for Regions funding.

The funding boost will also support 10 existing providers to expand their services regionally across Western Australia.
VDS providers play a vital role in improving rates of volunteering across WA by developing more local opportunities, upskilling volunteers and working with organisations to better respond to their community’s needs.

The $2.1 million boost brings the State Government’s total funding for the Volunteering Development Service Program to $6.1 million across five years.
