Apply for Asbestos Assessor licence

Application for a new asbestos assessor licence.

An asbestos assessor licence is required when carrying out air monitoring during Class A asbestos removal work at a workplace.

Before you apply

1. You'll need

  • Proof of identity such as a driver licence or passport
  • Evidence of training (CPCCDE5001 OR a tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, science, building construction, or environmental health.)
  • Evidence of six jobs over last three years.
    • Each job must have:
      • a completed copy of clearance certificates;
      • a completed copy of air monitoring report(s), or similar, that state the calculated airborne fibre concentration results during the asbestos removal, and at the clearance inspection; and
      • a completed copy of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)
        • Note: If an applicant is already an approved nominated supervisor working under a Class A licence (any state or territory), you don’t need to provide examples of experience.
