An exciting graduate development program to lay the foundations for career success.

All modules and skill builders are delivered face-to-face, either in person or online with an emphasis on active, experiential and learner centred activities, coupled with real world relevance and continuous feedback.

Modules

There are 5 modules delivered on foundational topics that enable graduates to better understand themselves and how they can impact the sector. These are face-to-face sessions which are either full day or half day.

Module 1: Thrive and strive

Thrive personally and professionally with comprehensive self awareness and leadership development. Be empowered with the knowledge and skills necessary to drive purposeful growth and success, conquer challenges and seize the opportunities that life and leadership present.

Module 3: Competence, candour and character

Skill builders

These are short, sharp learning sessions focusing on a specific skill area, which transitions to an activity to encourage immediate application. These sessions are delivered via a combination of face-to-face and virtual sessions.

Skill builder 1: Thrive, prioritise and conquer

Be empowered with the knowledge and tools to foster a positive, engaging and purpose driven work environment. This interactive session helps build the skills needed for a more satisfying and motivating work experience.

Skill builder 2: Land, legacy and respect (Acknowledgement of Country)

Deepen your cultural awareness of Acknowledgement of Country by gaining insights into its significance and purpose as a way to pay respect and learn how to personalise an address suitable for any gathering or occasion.

Delve into the world of policy analysis by gaining insights into the distinctions between strategic and operational policy, and learning to apply specialised tools to address policy matters.

Site visits

These 2 practical sessions involve tours of Parliament House and a public sector agency other than the participant’s employer.

Site visit 1: Take the lead

Gain a deeper understanding of the functions and responsibilities of other agencies in the WA public sector and recognise the importance of relationship building and interagency networking.

Site visit 2: Understanding the Parliament 

Delve into the inner workings of the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council to gain a deeper understanding of their functions and processes.
