Who we are

The Department of Education is Western Australia’s largest employer, supporting more than 800 worksites across metropolitan, regional and remote areas of the state.

Education Business Services plays a critical role in enabling schools and the wider department to deliver quality education outcomes. This includes providing corporate services that support staff, students and school communities across Western Australia.

The department is also delivering Program Kaartdijin, a major initiative to modernise administrative and finance systems across WA schools, ensuring contemporary, connected solutions now and into the future.

About the program

The Corporate Services Support Program provides an opportunity to start or progress a career in corporate and business services within the Department of Education.

Through this program, Corporate Services Support Officers participate in an accelerated training and development pathway, rotating across corporate services environments to build knowledge, capability and confidence.

The program supports the development of skills that can lead to career opportunities across central office, regional offices and school sites.

Participants are employed in permanent, full time roles, with placements available across metropolitan and regional locations.

What you will work on

As part of the program, you will gain hands on experience across a variety of corporate service functions.

Depending on rotations and business needs, your work may include:

  • finance and finance systems support
  • human resources administration
  • information and communication technology support
  • school and student administration
  • operational, reporting and customer service activities
  • supporting schools, teachers and staff with day‑to‑day business needs.

The program provides exposure to how schools and corporate services operate together to support education outcomes across the state.

Rotations and development

Participants rotate through a range of work areas that may include:

  • central office teams
  • schools
  • regional offices.

This structured approach helps build a strong understanding of the department’s systems, processes and functions, while supporting individual career planning and progression.

Professional development and workplace learning are embedded throughout the program to support ongoing growth.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid visa with appropriate work rights
  • be willing to undertake a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
  • obtain a current Working with Children Check
  • meet screening requirements set by the Department of Education.
