About our program

There are countless ways to develop your career at the Department of Justice. It is one of the most diverse public sector organisations in WA, providing a variety of legal, justice, corrections and related services to government and the community.

Our 12 month program provides recent university graduates an opportunity to launch their career, build core skills and embark on becoming a future leader. Graduate officers undertake a combination of professional development sessions delivered by both the Public Sector Commission and the department, including leadership forums and cross agency networking opportunities.

Program highlights

  • Three rotations throughout business areas relevant your discipline.
  • Interdepartmental learning and networking.
  • Leadership forums with the department’s senior executives and subject matter experts.
  • Participation in the Public Sector Commission’s Launch program.
  • Career counselling and support from a formal mentor, the graduate coordinators and your line managers.
