Information for learners

Whether you’re starting your career in the public sector or are a seasoned professional, The Skills Academy has something for you.

The Skills Academy is an impactful approach to learning designed to address the unique needs of the Western Australian public sector workforce.

The first 12 courses are now available through The Skills Academy.

Each course includes a series of different learning formats and activities which are completed in a recommended sequence. Together they form a learning journey. This paced approach helps learners build new skills and behaviours and apply what they learn in their work each day.

The Skills Academy learning map

The Skills Academy is organised around 5 agency capability areas. These branch out to 12 learning pathways, each made up of relevant topics. The 120 courses sit below the topics.

Learners can use this learning map in discussions with their manager to identify relevant learning pathways and topics.
