2025-26 Community Gardens Grants Program
The Community Gardens Grants Program has continued to grow in popularity, with the most recent funding round delivering $100,000 to support 13 projects in Western Australia in 2025-26.
The successful projects include:
- Kalumburu Aboriginal Corporation – Seeds of Strength Community Garden
- Community Food Forests Inc. – workshop titled Healing with Herbs, led by Perth City Farm
- People Helping People International/Development WA – reactivate the former Bentley Community Garden as the Heartwood Collective to create an inclusive, accessible, and welcoming community hub
- Healthy Self Wellness Incorporated – establish a 4-acre next-generation food forest and community garden in the Wheatbelt to create a welcoming and inclusive space that increases access to fresh, locally grown produce
- Wattandee Littlewell Aboriginal Corporation – transform of the former Mingenew Aboriginal Reserve into a native bush food and medicine garden, strengthening community, youth skills, and cultural healing through sustainable, edible plants.
The funding supports the establishment and development of sustainable, edible community gardens, and provides opportunities for community participation, relationship building and connecting with the natural environment.
