The study focused on gathering information on air quality issues which may not at the current time be significant but which need to be understood and managed to ensure that problems do not emerge in the future.
The focus of greatest effort was to gain an understanding of the complex coastal meteorology which determines the transport and dispersion of primary and secondary pollutants, via continuous measurement, intensive field measurement programs, data analyses and modelling.
