Emergency Relief and Support Services

Under Western Australia’s State emergency management arrangements, Department of Communities is the support organisation responsible for providing and coordinating emergency relief and support services in respect of an emergency arising from any of the 28 hazards prescribed in legislation.

Severe Tropical Cyclone Narelle - Disaster Relief Hotline

If you’ve been impacted by Severe Tropical Cyclone Narelle and need support, call the Disaster Relief Hotline on 1800 032 965 (9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday).

A temporary support hub is also open Monday to Friday at the Ningaloo Centre in Exmouth (2 Truscott Cres, Exmouth).

Supports may include: 

  • emergency accommodation 
  • emergency food  
  • emergency clothing and personal requisites 
  • personal support services 
  • registration and reunification 
  • financial assistance

Preparedness

We support people and communities by working in partnership to plan and prepare for emergencies.

Response

We partner with Federal, State and Local Government Agencies to coordinate immediate support for people impacted by an emergency.

Recovery

We support State and local recovery efforts by coordinating the emergency relief and support activities to help communities recover after an emergency.
