Under Western Australia’s State emergency management arrangements, Department of Communities is the support organisation responsible for providing and coordinating emergency relief and support services in respect of an emergency arising from any of the 28 hazards prescribed in legislation.

Severe Tropical Cyclone Narelle - Disaster Relief Hotline

If you’ve been impacted by Severe Tropical Cyclone Narelle and need support, call the Disaster Relief Hotline on 1800 032 965 (9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday).

We’re working with partner agencies to coordinate support for people impacted by Severe Tropical Cyclone Narelle.

Supports may include: 

  • emergency accommodation 
  • emergency food  
  • emergency clothing and personal requisites 
  • personal support services 
  • registration and reunification 
  • financial assistance.

Exmouth

The Recovery Hub supported by Communities and the Shire of Exmouth has moved. You can now find it at Community Hub on Maidstone Crescent, 8am to 4pm on Tuesday and Thursdays.

Support to complete claim forms using the public computers is available at Exmouth Library, 10am to 12pm on Wednesdays.

Carnarvon

Communities is providing support in conjunction with the Shire of Carnarvon.

Donations

Department of Communities (Communities) is supporting impacted residents and families as they clean up and recover from Tropical Cyclone Narelle.

Communities have partnered with GIVIT, a national not-for-profit, to manage donations of goods, services and funds in parts of the state.

Public donations and corporate support received by GIVIT increase options for impacted people to replace things damaged or lost during the emergency.

GIVIT is working with services on the ground in Exmouth and surrounds to assess community needs and register them through the Western Australian Disasters Appeal on the GIVIT website.

Donations include grocery and fuel vouchers as well as furniture, white goods and household essentials. Local charities or frontline services in need of donated goods and services can register for free on the GIVIT website to access thousands of donations offered by generous Australians and corporates. 

Members of the public can donate money or essential goods and services to impacted communities through the GIVIT Western Australia Disasters Appeal with 100% of publicly donated funds received by GIVIT used to purchase exactly what’s needed.

Impacted people can visit the GIVIT Western Australia Disasters webpage to find out what assistance is available.

Where possible, GIVIT uses donated funds to purchase goods from local providers to support the economic recovery of impacted regions.
