About

The Investment Attraction Fund (IAF) encourages new investment in Western Australia (WA) to create local jobs and a more diversified economy.

In 2022, the WA Government launched the first round of the IAF, prioritising identified projects and sectors for strategic development including energy, primary industries, defence, space, health and medical life sciences, international education, tourism, events and creative industries, and mining equipment, technology and services.

The initial round of the New Energies Industries Funding Stream helped kickstart major projects in green iron, carbon capture and storage, and downstream processing in both lithium and graphite.

The second round of the New Energies Industries Funding Stream includes further support for major projects in critical minerals, green iron and steel, renewable hydrogen, and carbon capture, utilisation and storage.

The IAF offers financial assistance and investment facilitation support to businesses seeking to establish and grow their operations in WA or relocate company headquarters to WA.
