Applications for the Investment Attraction Fund New Energies Industries Round 2 Funding Stream closed on 4 November 2025. 

An Addendum to the Investment Attraction Fund Guidelines was issued on 26 September 2025 and an Addendum to the New Energies Industries Funding Stream Round 2 Applicant Information on 16 October 2025. The Guidelines and Applicant Information must be read in conjunction of both Addenda.

About

The Investment Attraction Fund (IAF) encourages new investment in Western Australia to create local jobs and a more diversified economy. 

In 2022, the Western Australian Government launched the first round of the Fund, prioritising identified projects and sectors for strategic development including energy, primary industries, defence, space, health and medical life sciences, international education, tourism, events and creative industries, and mining equipment, technology and services.

The initial round of the New Energies Industries Funding Stream helped kickstart major new clean energy projects in green iron, carbon capture and storage, and downstream processing in both lithium and graphite. 

The second round of the New Energies Industries Funding Stream includes further support for major clean energy and renewable energy projects in the following sectors: 

  • critical minerals,
  • green iron and steel
  • renewable hydrogen, and
  • carbon capture, utilisation and storage.

The IAF offers financial assistance and investment facilitation support to businesses seeking to:

  • establish and grow their operations in Western Australia,
  • relocate company headquarters to Western Australia
