Social Policy Unit - Department of the Premier and Cabinet

The unit's current work focus includes:

Prior work of the Unit included supporting the Methamphetamine Action Plan Taskforce.

The Unit is responsible for administering the following committees:

  • Community Safety and Family Support (CSFS) Cabinet Sub Committee Secretariat: directs and oversees integrated, across-government approaches to the development and implementation of social policies, to improve the lives of members of the Western Australian community.
  • Directors General Implementation Group (DGIG) Secretariat: directs and implements across-government social policies.
  • Justice Planning and Reform Committee: cross-agency justice governance committee tasked with providing strategic direction on the development of a sector-wide reform plan and its implementation.
  • Supporting Communities Forum Secretariat: supports implementation of the Government's Supporting Communities Policy, which is overseen by the CSFS Cabinet Sub Committee.
