Requesting authorisation to act on behalf of a business

How to request authorisation to act on behalf of a business or another entity with the WARAM.

You must be authorised to transact on behalf of a person or a business.

If you wish to act on behalf of another person, please contact that person and arrange for them to invite you to act on their behalf.

To act on behalf of a business you can submit a request and wait for it to be approved or declined.

A business can be a public or private company, partnership, trust, superannuation fund, sole trader, incorporated association, strata title, co-operative, diplomatic/consulate body or high commission, syndicate (who has an ABN), local government jurisdiction or a state, territory or commonwealth agency or any other type of non-person entity.

Requests will be sent for approval. You may be contacted to provide additional proof that you are authorised to act on behalf of the business. If approved, your authorisation will be associated with the account you used to submit the request.

Requests expire after 30 days.

To request authorisation to act on behalf of a business:

  • sign into the WARAM;
  • choose “My entities” on the “My dashboard” page;
  • after the “My entities” page is displayed, choose “Request authorisation”;
  • follow the steps in the “Request Authorisation” wizard;
  • the process is complete when you see the “Authorisation request submitted” page.
    • An email will be sent to the “Service Administrator” for the entity you have requested to act on behalf of, who must then sign in and approve the request.

Step-by-step help with screenshots can be found under “WA Relationship Authorisation Manager User Guide – Requesting authorisation to act on behalf of a business”.
