Planning is essential to building a diverse and inclusive workforce as it identifies the skills, knowledge, experiences and different ways of thinking needed for a future enabled public sector.
It also strategically aligns agencies with sector aspirational diversity targets set out in the Workforce Diversification and Inclusion Strategy for WA Public Sector Employment 2020–2025.
The strategy aims to make the sector a leader in diversity and an inclusive employer where the qualities, contributions and perspectives of every individual are valued.
There are guidance materials and tools to lead, inspire and inform diversity and inclusion initiatives including:
- inclusive recruitment, talent management and staff progression
- safe and respectful workplace cultures
- monitoring and evaluating progress.
