Connecting Early Years Networks

The Department of Communities provides backbone support through Connecting Early Years Networks for more than 40 Early Years Networks across the state.
Last updated:

Early Years Networks (Networks) play an important role in connecting a community by working collaboratively to develop and implement services and activities aimed at improving outcomes for young children and their families. They provide a platform to build collaborative practices between organisations and have existed in Western Australia since 2003.

Networks are predominantly made up of government and non-government service providers from education, health, local government associations and the community services sector working in the early years and parent support space.

Connecting Early Years Networks aim to:

  • build capacity and sustainability of Early Years Networks to better support children and families at a local level
  • enhance and support the establishment of sound Network governance and development of local evidence based strategic action plans
  • encourage community sector partnerships and collaborative practice to support flexible and coordinated service delivery in response to community need
  • facilitate communication and connection between service providers to share information.
