Chelsea and Matt became foster carers to make a difference in their community and set an example for their own three children.

They have been fostering a young Aboriginal child since she was six months old and have built and maintained strong relationships with her parents and siblings in the four years they’ve been caring for her.

This year, Chelsea and Matt took the family on a trip around Australia, visiting significant places for their foster child and connecting her with her father's side of the family in Queensland. This was important for them, as they wanted to make sure she remains connected to her family, culture, and community.

Chelsea says foster caring, while challenging at times, has been incredibly rewarding and changed her family’s life for the better.
