Across Western Australia (WA), there are an estimated 320,000 people who provide unpaid personal care for family and friends. Carers make an invaluable social and economic contribution to WA. The care they provide reduces the demand for and dependence on paid care and health and community services sector, with an estimated annual replacement value of $77.9 billion each year to the Australian economy.

Recognising and supporting carers is critical to the future of carers, their families and community wellbeing. This work requires collaboration across all levels of government, non-government organisations, and the private sector to do what we can to support carers.
