Call centre and back office processing operators employ high numbers of entry-level staff, encourage flexible working conditions and provide long-term employment opportunities.

As part of ensuring a diversified economy that is socially inclusive, in 2020 the Western Australian Government launched the Call Centre and Back Office Processing Scheme to expand the CCBOP industry in Western Australia, create local jobs and promote sector growth.

The government allocated $14.9 million for Phase 1 of the scheme. To date, Phase 1 has supported companies already operating in the industry to set up or expand operations in WA. To support continued growth new employment opportunities in the CCBOP sector, in May, the Western Australian Government approved an additional funding amount of $10 million for Phase Two of the Scheme.

Phase Two of the Scheme aims to supports the CCBOP sectors expansion and long-term viability while creating entry level and flexible jobs.

The Scheme continues to produce major benefit for the Western Australia, including creating more than 500 full-time equivalent jobs in metropolitan and regional locations.
