Submitting an application

Your high risk work licence is valid in all Australian States and Territories. If you have permanently moved to WA and your licence is due for renewal or you want to add additional classes, you can transfer your licence to WA.
If your licence expired more than 12 months ago, you must redo the training with a registered training organisation. You must be reassessed as competent by an accredited assessor and submit a new application.
You'll need:
- A copy of your interstate licence card.
- A copy of your fully completed white notice of assessment (NOA) issued by a Western Australian RTO in the last 60 days (if adding a class).
- A copy of your Statement of Attainment (if adding a class).
- Proof of ID ready to upload.
- A passport quality photograph ready to upload.
- Visa/Mastercard for fee payment.

What happens next
Licence applications typically take 6-8 weeks to process. WorkSafe will:
- Review your application and contact you by email if we need more information to process your application.
- Contact the original State that your licence was issued to, to transfer your licence.
- Once granted, we will add your licence details to the Online licence search register.
- Once granted, we will post you your new WA licence card which should arrive within 28 days.
If you submit your application within 60 days of receiving your Notice of Assessment (NOA), you can continue working until your application is approved, refused, or withdrawn.
